Sometimes as portrait photographers we think that fresh ideas mean new places and people but sometimes it doesn’t mean that at all. So how can you get inspired to photograph at the same location, maybe even the same client? Remember your angles.
I wondered if I’d ever let these horrifying pictures leave the comfort of my personal hard drive, but for the sake of point, here you go – your laugh for today.

Thanks to my "second shooters," you can see, I find myself in some less than desirable positions while photographing. Think of perspective from the camera, making your image create an emotion from the viewer. I love pictures that make me feel as if I’m peering into a window of a moment. So think about ways you can capture the perspective from a mother, father, baby, friend or even an animal – the way they see it, the way they remember it. This will evoke emotion from your viewer.
Look up from below, look down from above, tilt left, tilt right and crawl around, get dirty – in the name of art.
Tip to start: Try photographing the same object in at least three different angles. Which one do you like best? Why?
Questions? Ask away. And share a link to you’re new pictures – I’d love to see.
